Decolonizing Therapy in Mental Health Part 1&2
Join Alishia McCullough in a conversation around Decolonizing Therapy within the Mental Health field. Alishia will differentiate colonization and anti-colonialism, define systems that support it. She will discuss the impacts of anti-colonial theory in therapy when working with Black people with intersectional social identities. She will explore how colonization impacts Black clinicians with intersectional identities within the workplace. Alishia will offer insight around where to begin to dismantle and uproot micro and macro level systems of colonialism within our institutions. Lastly she will define what needs to take place in order to uphold an anti-colonial framework.
